Just a couple of questions to get me started. I just purchased the Host In a Box plan.

1. Does the hostname for the server matter? Can I set it to anything I want? Does it need to end with .com?

2. I have 2 ip's, but multiple websites. Do I just distribute them evenly over the ip's or does it matter?

Thanks.

Thanks sparky. So for the hostname do i need to have a real domain name. I tried just entering my last name, but it said invalid hostname.

Ideally the server should have a valid resolving hostname. Something like 'server.yourdomain.com'. To be valid and resolving it should have a DNS entry.

Typically you use the first IP for all regular websites, and use other IPs for SSL sites, which require their own IP.

For the Host name I used the one at the top of my VPSVille Control Panel, That has always worked fine for me,(Keep it simple)

Perhaps staff could confirm if thats correct.
