This template is designed for simple web hosting in a low memory footprint. It includes the following software:

- Debian GNU Linux
- Apache 1.3x
- MySQL 5, low memory optimized, innodb disabled
- PHP 5

Note: Apache 1.3 was chosen for its low memory usage and stability. It is not less secure than the 2.0x or the 2.2x family, it merely employs a different process model.

You can install the template and then upload your website to /var/www. That will get you up and running quickly.

This template will run on a Village, but a Town is recommended.

Is there a plan for deploying a debian 5.0 LAMP?

We will be adding new templates soon and will update this one at the same time.

Debian 5 LAMP will be based on Apache 2x, so it will probably require a Town or City plan.

Check out our tinywebserver template for a full fledged LAMP stack on a Village.
