A destkop template utilizing XFCE and the excellent x2Go software has been added. This will allow you to connect your server graphically, run a web browser etc. x2Go allows for a very fast remote desktop experience, including sound!

The template comes with Firefox and flash pre-installed and everything else you'd expect on a Linux desktop computer.

You'll need a Town plan to run this graphical desktop, and a City plan to to any significant amount of web browsing with it (Firefox uses a lot of memory).

Install the 'Remote Destkop' template on your VPS from our website control panel.

Download x2Go from our support section:

from the creators:

Install and run the client software on your PC.

A connection wizard will start:

- Create a new session
- under 'Session name' input anything you like, such as 'VPSVille desktop'
- Under 'Host', Enter the IP address for your server
- SSH port, leave at 22
- Session type, set to XFCE

You're now ready to login. You'll need to login as 'desktop', and the password is the same as your initial root password. This information is also in the setup email sent to you when you install the template.

This template is built on top of Ubuntu 14.
