Hi Forum,

I'm trying to get a simple contact form using PHP working on my website, and from the user's perspective, the script is running fine. It accepts the data from the html form, composes the email and sends it off, and then redirects the user to a "thanks" page.

The problem is, I'm not receiving the email. I'm able to find it in my control panel under the Mail Queue, and it shows that an error occurred while attempted to send the email. I have verified that I'm able to send and receive emails with the account (both through the webmail program as well as with Outlook). I've read online that for mail that requires SMTP authentication, there's a package called PEAR to help. I'm not even sure if my email requires authentication, so I don't know if that's a route I should investigate. Any ideas?

Here's the bounced message I'm receiving (copied from the Mail Queue) where "infinitivehost" is the name of the VPS. Also, I'm using an alternate SMTP port of 587. I'm not sure if that has to be listed somewhere in my PHP script.

Have I posted this is the wrong section, as it's been almost a month with not one reply?
Perhaps, the issue is unknown as to why a simple PHP script can't run on my VPS?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mindy

I don't think your error is VPS related. I suggest you post in a PHP programming forum for help, or forums specific to the control panel you are using.

If you are using cPanel or DirectAdmin, open a support ticket with us, those plans are fully managed.

Hello,
I don't think it's a PHP problem as it's working fine on the front end. Also, it seems as though emails aren't even getting through to my Kloxo admin account. Below is the body of a bounced email message that I've copied from my Mail Queue (mail@shawnpostoff.com is the main VPSville account email & infinitivehost is the name of the VPS server). Any ideas on what I can try? If this is a Kloxo or lxadmin issue, is that not supported through VPSville?
Thanks so much for your time!
Mindy : )

Hi,

Kloxo is a free software package that can be installed on any Value plan server. It is constantly updated by an active community which is your best bet for support. We don't provide technical support for their software.

Kloxo is a good control panel but still evolving and far from perfect. You may need to get your hands dirty once in a while fixing issues or modifying it to suit your needs.

If you'd like a fully managed control panel for production uses, we suggest cPanel: http://www.vpsville.com/cpanel-vps
