hi,

i want to setup a vpn server on my ubuntu 10.04. the pptpd started successfully, but when i tried to connect to the vpn from my win7, i got the following error message:

GRE: Bad checksum from pppd.


how to fix this?

Is that a Windows error message? If so I would suggest you check online to see what it means.

You can also use our 'Instant VPN' template, it should work immediately after setup.

I was facing the same problem on it but not from windows 7 but it was from another thing

Do the following
x:~# nano /etc/ppp/pptpd-options

try commenting the following line:

#require-mppe-128

putting # sign in start will disable the mppe and thus can help you passing gre error
