Is there anyway to save a copy of your VPS on an external ftp? For example an image, vhdx, etc?

Yes, you can use rsync to copy an image offsite. Alternately you could tar up an image and ftp that somewhere.

Can you store those backups locally by any chance?

Sure, all you need is a directory on a server to archive your filesystem. You can use rsync to copy the entire filesystem, which should preserve permissions for you.

Alternately you can use our control panel, you can make a backup and restore it anytime.
